I was still not satisfied with the results of cheap Chinese antennas on the 70cm band. I finally replaced the antenna that I used on my first iGate OM7DD-10 with an antenna that I made myself. It’s really easy and you will be very satisfied with the result. A Chinese antenna cannot be compared to this antenna.
This will probably be the simplest antenna you have ever made. All we need is copper wire, I used a diameter of 2.5 millimeters, a PL connector, the kind that goes into the panel, and I also used shrink tubing so that the antenna radiator wouldn’t oxidize.
The radiator dimensions and the design and winding of the coil are clear from the picture. I first left the radials at a length of 170mm, later I shortened them a little and thereby adjusted the SWR.
I wound the coil to a diameter of 5mm with 5 turns.
The antenna has a very good SWR when tuned, I managed 1.2.

My three years old son Dominik also helped me make the antenna. He had a lot of fun with it. Thank you Dominik.
